BELLY PUNKER COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT

While traipsing through the local park, imagine my surprise to see this image carved into a tree. I choose to be flattered instead of angry.

ENRAGED BELLYPUNKER

Why is the Bellypunker so mad? Because people are lighting firecrackers in the parking lot and they scare is dog.

Maybe the Bellypunker will chill out a bit once he moves to the country.

BELLY PUNKER IN SHADOW

UPDATE:
I'm late for Illustration Friday this week, but I feel a need to make a last minute contribution. So I'll make one slight alteration to make it applicable:

The Belly Punker dances. Not for money, but for the SNAPs of beatniks.

OK, weak, I know. I'll be better next time.

---

As you can tell, I'm enjoying working with the India Ink and Bamboo Brush. So much so I had to visit an old friend, The Belly Punker. Note, too, how I composed this piece with an "X" shape theme. The aceo is divided into four triangles, giving the viewer a sense of order, juxtaposing the chaotic Id that is The Belly Punker. Upon closer inspection, of course, the "X" is askew, surely a comment on the whimsy of the artist (that is I). Continuing on the Balance vs Chaos theme, the shadow that makes up the lower right hand corner combines with the light in the upper right to create a sort of Yin Yang symbol.

Also note the subtle Pencil Moustache, itself in compete shadow. Does the artist wish to convey a sense of absence? A void of the familiar, some dark matter that has swallowed up humankind's meager attempts at creating a substance to style like a black hole does entire stars only to spit it out on the "other side" (wherever that is)?

Or did the artist use too thick of a brush stroke?

WALKING THE CAT

This might take a little bit of explaining.

The Belly Punker needs some exercise. So he decides to take the cat out for walks. The thing is, Mrs. Belly Punker has spoiled the cat. When Mrs. Belly Punker walks the cat, she showers him with treats all the way. Now the cat won't budge without a treat. The Belly Punker, a strict disciplinarian, knows the rules: first exercise, then training, THEN reward. All thanks to the mighty Kitty Whisperer.

Anyway, what you see here is the war of wills. And the A-frame house I hope to one own. On the land near the mountains. With a big tree or six. And a bird feeder behind the house. With no property taxes. Or mortgage payments. What? Oh. Sorry. Drifted off for a minute there.

Work is starting to let up a bit, so let's just pretend October never happened and resume with the art stuff.

First, from art class:
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

This is a piece I shall call MULTI-TASKING. See, I was doing the standard art class thing and painting a skull some decomposed dude was nice enough to model. While letting bits of it dry, I wanted to work on watercolor shading. Hence, the blobs. It's all on the same page because, well, I had the room and didn't feel like ripping it out just yet.

Next, I've got three aceos up:

MORNING DRIVE
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

SNAIL MAN ADMIRING FLOWER
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

and
RETURN OF BELLYPUNKER

More to come, especially since the laundry is done and the dog has been walked.

BELLY PUNKER SIGHTING

"I'm a tell you whut - I seen him!" Rooster McCoy isn't the type to make things up. Still, he sees the smirks on the faces of his drinkin buddies. "Ah, nevermind." It'll be a long time before he lives this one down. Some things you just keep to yourself. Apparently, seeing some guy with a purple mowhawk in pantaloons without a shirt and a pencil through his nose dancing around all pagan-like, chanting in French, is one of them.

"You know, he could be telling the truth," said Booty to the others. Booty is one of those benefit of the doubt types.

"I've been reading in the paper about how a lot of folks from New York are movin' down here."

Booty has a point. The men at the bar lose their smirks, and start nodding in agreement.

"Yup, probably some New Yorker," they say, finishing their beer.

BELLY PUNKER EMPLOYED

The Belly Punker was doing his Belly Punker Dance in the wilds of North Carolina. His chant echoed through the forest:

Je. Suis. Un artiste.
Tres. Sexy to say the least.
Like some primal hairy... Hnughmf!

A sharp pain hits him in his derriere. He looks down to see a small dart protruding from said region. Pulling it out, he reads it. "10ccs of TheMan serum... ungh." He passes out.

It is now 9AM sharp, and Belly Punker is ready for another day at TheMan inc. He pats his breast pocket to make sure his lucky pencils are still there. He doesn't remember why he keeps a couple of dirty pencils around, but they reassure him all the same.

Help the Belly Punker pay for his coffee here.

BARE IN THE WOODS

This... um... creation is the result of a dare given to me by ayer5922. The dare was - and I quote: to create a tranquil rural landscape being interrupted by something very un-tranquil. I, the Belly Punker, may be beautiful, sexy, irresistable to the ladies, but tranquil I am not.

I, the Belly Punker, REFUSE to be put in a box. My hobbies are diverse. Among them are entomology and nudism. Let me tell you, brothers and sisters, you've never truly looked at a butterfly until you've looked at a butterfly in the NUDE. Ah, the freedom. Ah, the intellectual stimulation. Prancing through the woods, hither and thither, chasing everything from the tiny Dicopomorpha echmepterygis to the huge Phobaeticus Serratipes. Naked.

ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY: SACRIFICE

I'm posting this one again because a) the ebay listing ends today, so you should go
here
to get a further explaination of this piece, and start bidding like crazy if you are so inclined; b) the topic for this week's Illustration Friday is Sacrifice. I have sacrificed fellow ebayer mreas (his site linked on the right) and shrunk his head to magik-ly absorb his shading skills. Some might say I have also sacrificed my integrity by claiming this image is a self-portrait.

So go, bid, comment, eat your vegetables, etc.

TRIBAL ARTIST

Me, me, me. I can't stop painting my self portrait now that I've started. It's so... gratifying.

I must tell, you, the wife is none to pleased with these incredibly sexy images of me on ebay. She's quite concerned that I shall start receiving solicitations from women with impeccable taste. I can't say that I blame her. Look at me!

This is an image of me as I prepare to paint an aceo. I go down the the banks of the lake, and strip down to my pantaloons (no bells, no vest). The pencil moustache just wasn't edgy/tribal enough for me, so I stuck it through my nose. Painful, yes, but aesthetically superior. I bear the necklace of the shrunken head of former aceo competitor, Mick Reasor (mreas). This helps me summon his superior shading techniques. And then, I SING:

Je. suis. un artiste
Tres. sexy to say the least
Like some primal hairy beast
Devouring paint like it's a feast

Hammy, hommy, dippy do dee
Fie fie nippy flippy zip po fee
I paint for you
You bid for me
Help me pay that ebay fee!

BELLY PUNKER

I am a very serious normative artist. I have the fringe benefits to prove it. And, as every serious artist does, I, too, have painted a self-portrait.

If, as every serious artist does, I bare my dark, soulful soul in my work to the masses, it is only right I should display the container of said soulful soul in all it's glory. I bring you, ME. The BELLY PUNKER.

Mere prose does no justice. Forsooth, a poem:

BELLY PUNKER, BELLY PUNKER
In your pantaloons
BELLY PUNKER BELLY PUNKER
Dancing o'er the dunes
BELLY PUNKER BELLY PUNKER
In the mosh pit, mash
BELLY PUNKER BELLY PUNKER
Stylish pencil ... moustache
BELLY PUNKER BELLY PUNKER
Jingling pretty bells
BELLY PUNKER BELLY PUNKER
Aching soul doth quells
BELLY PUNKER BELLY PUNKER
After all the work he did
BELLY PUNKER BELLY PUNKER
Don't just watch, please bid.

Yes, I just wrote a poem about ME in the third person. That's what serious artists DO.

PS No, mom, I don't really have a purple mowhawk. Jeez.

To bid, click on the "What am I selling now" link on the right.

The harmoniousjosh inc board meeting is going swimmingly on the ebay aceo forum. Lots of good questions, ideas, paradigm shifting, meme birthing, and everyone for the most part is behaiving professionally. The sole exception, of course, would be Mick. He's the one with the crumbs in his fashionable braided goatee. He had the nerve to tell me, in front of the entire board, that my pencil moustache was passe. Au contrere, mon frere.

Oh, and I've changed my look. Hope you like.

And yes, I really do have anime eyes. TETSUO!!!!!
