BEN'S PICS
NOT mine. Don't want to take the credit/blame. These are by Sutcliffe buddy Ben. He went to art class with me, so here are some familiar images through the eyes of a banjo player.

DOWNY WOODPECKER

Where have I been? Oh, here and there. Thanks for asking.
Here's a Downy Woodpecker for your enjoyment.
Gotta go. I have a house to buy. Which I can afford, thanks to support from patrons like you.
I feel like PBS.
Except, of course, I'm not taking any public funding.
Speaking of buying a house, I've decided that Radon testing is a scam. Just saying.

BLUE COMMA

While I think this may be one of my best, I'm not quite up to having a "period" yet.

ENRAGED BELLYPUNKER

Why is the Bellypunker so mad? Because people are lighting firecrackers in the parking lot and they scare is dog.
Maybe the Bellypunker will chill out a bit once he moves to the country.
Close-up of his dashing countenance:

WET MOCKINGBIRD

A sonnet? OK!
The mockingbird is wet and wants to eat
Swinging on the feeder in the rain
His staring eye breaks through the windowpane
All the while, pecking at his treat.
His feathers ruffled and all spiky wet
Shaking off in vain attempts to dry
Yet always steady is his staring eye
Engaged in inter-species tete-a-tete.
"What fortune you do have to be inside,
As I eat my wet and meager meal;
Do you have a notion how I feel?
I swear, this rain has soaked me through my hide!"
"No," I thought, as he flew away
"I have no wings, so on the ground I stay."
A close-up of said eye:

ART CLASS SKETCHES

A slightly better image of Jack, my art teacher.
Some kids, hanging out. Up to no good, most likely.
Some bottles. Hickup.
The groundskeeper at the park in downtown Greensboro.
Jack again, playing the guitar. Deep down, I think he really wants to be a model.

HAPPY FARMER

Most of the time I start out with a plan, the plan goes out the window, and then I pretend the end result is what I intended all along. That makes doing portraits VERY HARD.
I was trying to do a passable Hiriam Williams for a couple of weeks now. Personally, I don't think I've come even close yet. BUT, I like how this attempt turned out. This has a nice happy farmer look to it. So I've titled it HAPPY FARMER.
Hopefully, someday soon I'll be a happy farmer. More likely, I'll be a neurotic farmer. I will keep a copy of this guy for inspiration.
